The 2016 post show report just out confirms a resounding success.
The UK’s largest leisure vehicle event continues to grow.
Almost 100,000 visitors attended the Motorhome & Caravan Show 2016
The show, held from 11-16 October, took over 11 halls of Birmingham’s NEC
It was a huge success with leading manufacturers reporting record sales
The Motorhome and Caravan Show 2016, held by NCC Events, the exhibition arm of the NCC (National Caravan Council), showcased more than 400 exhibitors covering 82,191 square meters of floor space at Birmingham’s NEC. Total attendance at this year’s show was up 5% over 2015* and 27,546 visitors attended on the Saturday alone, smashing any previous single-day attendance record for the Motorhome and Caravan Show.
The UK’s largest leisure vehicle event showcases the latest product offering from touring caravan, motorhome and caravan holiday home manufacturers and enables visitors to get up close to their new-for-2017 models. Many visitors took advantage of their show-only prices, with Rob Quine, Managing Director of Elddis, commenting, “Visitors have done their research and know what they are looking for. With only two key UK shows a year they understand now is the time to confirm their purchase plans for the 2017 season.”
Swift Group surpassed all their expectations at this year’s Motorhome and Caravan Show with their best ever performance on touring caravans and the third best on motorhomes, with sales from the show projected to exceed £35m.
Sales soared for other exhibitors too, with Lee Roberts, Sales Director of Lunar Caravans, confirming a 23% increase in sales over the first three days compared to the same period of 2015’s show. “We had a record show last year by a long way and we hoped we would match that, but our figures are up,” said Roberts.
