Olivier Awards 2018
Last Sunday the Olivier Awards were held at the beautiful Royal Albert Hall – a venue TCS Media have had the pleasure of working with for over 7 years now.
It will probably come as no great surprise to hear that Hamilton was (deservedly) the night’s big winner with 7 gongs – matching Matilda’s 2012 record for the most Olivier Awards won by a musical. The Ferryman, which first played at the Royal Court Theatre (another incredible Arts Organisation we work with), also had an outstanding night. It won Best Actress for Laura Donnelly, Best Director for Sam Mendes and Best New Play. The Royal Court’s Killology also picked up the gong for Outstanding Achievement in Affiliate Theatre. Lastly, after its recent bashing in certain areas of the press, it was great to see The National Theatre win for Follies, Angels in America and The Network.
TCS were involved in booking the Olivier Awards out of home media campaign again this year through our long standing client Society of London Theatre (SOLT). This included South-East London bus superside activity leading up to the event, and a London underground digital D6 and DX3 weekend package. All formats used were visually impactful and played a major part in driving awareness of the ceremony to a greater London audience.
