Ad of the Week – Sainsbury’s
I really enjoyed watching the new Sainsbury’s ad, I saw it during Location, Location, Location on a Friday night eating dinner – very good media planning there!
The use of day-to-day scenarios, shot in black and white, with instant message emoji conversations overlaid was clever, and very relatable to the target audience. The everyday couple/family/friendship group can easily identify with the basic need of feeling hungry and wanting to be fed. How often do we debate what to have for dinner? Well, every single day of course.
Sometimes the simplest of ideas which tap into everyday necessary actions work the best.
Now, what shall I have for dinner tonight…
