Ad of the Week – Money Supermarket

As a 70s child, this Money Supermarket ad really makes me smile. In those days Action Man was the toy for boys. We used to love engaging him in all manner of adventures, whether that was parachuting from the loft window or floating his assault craft down the neighbourhood stream.

I love the way Money Supermarket juxtaposed his image as a literal man of action embarking on a worthy mission, with the Village People-esque dance moves that he segues into. Ingeniously, this all fits into place with the Money Supermarket brand values as a major yet cunningly irreverent brand.

Certainly, it should resonate with blokes of a certain age. My favourite is the Charles Bronson frogman.
